For every piece of evidence you give, people are going to cancel it out with stupid theories, like the one about the miracles and prayer answerings being... placebos... Captiosus: THE WHOLE POINT OF A DEBATE IS CANCELLING OUT EVIDENCE. YOU'RE JUST JEALOUS BECAUSE YOU CAN'T CANCEL OUT EVIDENCE AS WELL AS EVERYONE ELSE, SO YOU CALL ATHEISTS STUPID. WHAT, YOU THINK YOU COULD POST YOUR HALF-ASS SO-CALLED EVIDENCE IN A DEBATE AND EXPECT PEOPLE TO SAY "OK"? J: Ah, them damn sky-ent-teests and thar medi-kines and stuff. Stupid crap, that is. It's God, it's always God who does the healin'.

OH! YOU ARE ONE TO TALK WHATEVER THE HELL YOU ARE! YOU HAVE NOT CANCELLED OUT A DAMN THING SO AT LEAST I AM BETTER AT DOING IT THAN ONE PERSON ON THIS FORUM! YOU! What have I not cancelled out? Show me one piece of uncancelled evidence and I will cancel it out... Make a piece of evidence, then, Jerome, if you can manage to do so. Captiosus: But you're history shows you can't. Kidding, kidding. Well?

Make a piece of evidence that I cannot cancel out! You even said it yourself, know it all, that every piece of evidence in a theorilogical arguement can be cancelled out... What I might say to cancel out your evidence, you might not consider it cancelling it out, same as I might not consider what you say, cancelling out... If it was a fact that it cancells the other out, it wouldn't be called Theory Debate, it'd be called Fact Devate, and who wants to sit around talking about facts?

Exactly, matey... You can't argue with facts, so why would I sit around talking about them, when obviously I am an argueer...

Why would I feel stupid when no one DOES have facts... What facts are there that God does not exist, that Gay poeple can't help being gay, what is racist and what is not? You can't prove any of that... So don't you feel a li'l stupid saying that there are facts...

Sheesh. Debates are based on research and facts. From both sides. Both use this in an attempt to show their side as the better one. In a debate about smoking (for a random example), you can't just convince your opponent it's bad by saying, "It's probably bad for you." You need statistics and whatnot to back up your statement.
de·bate ( P ) Pronunciation Key (d-bt) v. de·bat·ed, de·bat·ing, de·bates v. intr. To consider something; deliberate. To engage in argument by discussing opposing points. To engage in a formal discussion or argument. See Synonyms at discuss. Obsolete. To fight or quarrel.
v. tr. To deliberate on; consider. To dispute or argue about. To discuss or argue (a question, for example) formally. Obsolete. To fight or argue for or over.
n. A discussion involving opposing points; an argument. Deliberation; consideration: passed the motion with little debate. A formal contest of argumentation in which two opposing teams defend and attack a given proposition. Obsolete. Conflict; strife.
...in case anyone cares for a real definition.
