(I would have added this one to my previous post, but then I realised my bus was due to arrive at any moment!)
28. Lemony lived in solitude until the age of ninety six, and never liked to talk/think about his past as a detective. He died in 1999, the year The Bad Beginning was first released. He spent the latter part of his life in The Postlethwaite Retirement Home. He was also wheelchair-bound.

Yeah, I kinda figured that a lot of the VFDs were linked in origin to the Volunteer Fire Department. It'd be too much of a coincidence for them not to be.

1. Kit's middle name is Scarlett. 2. Jacques' middle name is Jacob, and was the inspiration behind David's false name. 3. Lemony's middle name is Adonai. 4. Esme's middle names Gigi and Genevieve. Gigi was the name of her maternal grandmother. Genevieve was Esme's mother. This is a tradition in the maternal side of the family. 5. The Snicket family are Jewish. Chas and Evadne are stricter, though.

30. As Sunny gets older - she has no memory of the series of unfortunate events that she, Violet, and Klaus went through. Aw, this makes a lot of sense, though I never really thought about it before. That is rather sad but I totally adore this headcanon and agree with it!

Josephine is actually thirty-nine years old when the Baudelaires first meet her. Her appearance and timid personality makes her appear older than she really is, prompting Olaf to call her an old woman.

Hey, LSWannaBe, I wanted to ask you something. I know, in your ficverse, you imagine the series to take place in the late '30s - and you imagine the Quagmires as being part-black. Was racism less of an issue in your universe, or about the same as "our" world?

Hmm...I haven't really thought about that. I guess racism wasn't much of an issue as it was in the "real" 1930s.

Okay, I asked - because I figured some things about ficverse were probably a bit different from "our" world, and similar topics to that have been brought up before. So you think the ending of the series pretty much leads into WW2? I think that's a neat idea, actually.

Thank you. Maybe that means that Hitler, Stalin and the other dictators around that time were fire-starters. Hehe.

What do you are some of the differences between your ficverse and "our" world? I suppose, for starters, the computer either was either invented considerably sooner - or it advanced quite rapidly. I understand that, prior to the '70s, computers generally took up a lot of room. I suppose some of the geography would also be a bit different - and, also, animals that don't exist in "our" world.

Well, yeah. You've got the gist of it, I think. Modern technology was developed much earlier in this world, and films, as well, came out earlier. One example being The Wizard of Oz from 1939, which was released in the 1910s in my ficverse.
1. Justice Strauss has a sister named Hannah. 2. She was raised in the countryside before moving to The City. 3. The only thing Josephine isn't afraid of is mice. 4. Hurricane Herman occurred on a Friday.

It's interesting how many of us believe in Sunny's gayness.
I really like your idea about the Deouements - it seems obvious once pointed out!

Yes. It's rather odd. At first I decided she would be bisexual, but I couldn't really picture her dating a man. I'm wondering, though, if she should have an adopted child.
EDIT: Here are some headcanons that I've only just come up with today.
1. Carmelita got caught under some debris, and Esme left her for dead. (not deliberately.) 2. Mr. Poe saved her life and she is sent to live with his sister, Eleanora. 3. Carmelita and Esme never met up again, and Esme believes she died in the fire. 4. Mr. Poe suffered severe burns, smoke inhalation and lacerations on the face. 5. Carmelita also suffered some burns and smoke inhalation.
GO MR. POE <3
I'm in the middle of Chapter 13 of TPP right now, so it's been on my mind quite a lot. I'm wondering how he did it, though. What if he climbed out of the window to the second floor?
