Does anybody have any interesting ASOUE Headcannons? Any ideas, or beliefs about what happended behind the scenes?
Urban Dictionary: An idea, belief, or aspect of a story that is not mentioned in the media itself, but is accepted by either the reader themselves or the fandom in general. If it is confirmed by the author of the story, it becomes canon.
Like for example, I have a belief that Aunt Josephine's body sunk down to the point where Ike died.

^^Naww, yours is sweet! This first one is a bit of an obvious one, but someone was going to mention it at some point!
1. Sir and Charles are a couple. 2. Count Olaf was born in Sweden, and moved to the US when he was young. He lost his accent because of bullying and now speaks with a Boston accent. (Despite not living in Boston) 3. It was Olaf's distant relative that started VFD and it was another relative who started doing villainous things. 4. The VFD Training School is the building that is in the Mortmain Mountains. 5. Kit suffered from anorexia as a teenager. 6. Uncle Monty, Kevin and R all have dyspraxia (though R also has ADHD) 7. The Two White-Faced Women, along with their deceased sisters, are identical triplets. Their names being Margaret, commonly known as "Peggy", Susan, with the nickname "Sue" and Rachel, shortened to "Rae". Their surname is White. 8. The Bald Man suffered from a cancer when he was a child, and as a result, lost all of his hair. His name being Maurice (pronounced Maur-eese) Pitaccatio. 9. The Person of Indetermined Gender was born male. When they were an adult, their sex change operation got botched, thus giving them both male and female sexual organs. Their name at birth is Anthony Kurtis Bernstein. He prefers to be called Tony as it is also a girl's name. 10. The Snicket siblings were raised by their grandparents.
That's it for now. I'll be back with more!

I'm afraid I couldn't resist removing the extra "n" from the subject line; I hope you don't mind, Brunch.

^ That's fine, excuse me and my dyslexic typing! beth, yours are so cute as well....almost make me feel sorry for Olaf's henchmen! Some more of mine are: 1. Count Olaf and Kit dated in their last years of high school. Olaf wanted her to join her on the opposite side of VFD, but she refused. She still loved him, but had to remain true to the noble organization. 2. The Baudelaires found their way back to shore, where they re-joined VFD. 3. Violet and Klaus never married, but Sunny did. 4. Jerome survived the fire, and to this day is still searching for the Baudelaires. 5. Carmelita's parents, although rich, never paid attention to their daughter, which made her become cold. Her parents packed her off to Prufrock Prep. She came to be with the Snowscouts through school. 6. The whisk (despite the shipwreck) also made it back to land, where Sunny later discovered it on Briney Beach. It has been handed down from generation of mothers and daughters.

Fernald was born to a teenage mother and is seventeen years older than Fiona. 12. Mr. Poe and his wife conceived a third child, a girl named Bella, during The Penulitmate Peril. 13. Uncle Monty had a sister (pretty sure it was mentioned in the book) named Lucy. She was fifteen years older than him. 14. Lemony didn't go to VFD Training School and instead went to a school for delinquent teenagers. It was called Prufrock Military School (despite having a near non-existence disclipinary policy) 15. Mrs. Bass is gay. She was married with a daughter until she realised her sexuality. Her first name is Victoria. 16. R's full name is Rheanique Winnipeg. 17. Olaf and Esme conceived a son, Moses, during The Hostile Hospital. 18. Olaf had a younger brother named Livius, who died when he was a baby. 19. Ah, right. You know, looking back on your headcanons, I think you should write fanfiction about them.
1. R's favourite film is The Wizard of Oz and is a Judy Garland lookalike. 2. Sunny is gay. 3. During the shipwreck, Beatrice was separated from the Baudelaires and was taken in by The Great Unknown. She was raised by the others there and eventually got out. She never met Violet and Klaus again, but met Sunny. 4. Olaf's mother Tatiana had difficulty conceiving. Out of her seven pregnancies, only two of them were full-term (Olaf and Livius.) 5. The Denouement triplets were born in Boston. 6. The City is located in California and is simply called "The City." 7. Carmelita's parents are named Damarnie and Naomi, and they dumped her at Prufrock Prep to travel the world. 8. Kit became pregnant with Olaf's child at the age of sixteen. However, he was stillborn. His name is Joshua ("Josh".) 9. Esme used to be a model, but wanted to be an actress. 10. Geraldine Julienne's real surname is Cooper. Geraldine Julienne is a pen name. 11. Kit's favourite rock star is Avril Lavigne. Her favourite band is Evanescence. 12. Jerome is three years younger than Esme. 13. Daniel Handler was a great admirer of Lemony Snicket and met him once, thus writing the series. ROFL 14. Jerome has a brother named Andrew, who was three years older than him. He died at the age of six in an accident, scarring Jerome for life. 15. Esme's parents divorced when she was six. She went to live with her father in Texas, while her brothers stayed in France. Her mother died when she was ten. 16. Lemony's favourite band is One Republic. 17. Georgina Orwell and Charles used to be best friends. Georgina had a crush on Charles, but he obviously broke her heart. 18. VP Nero is sexually attracted to his violin, which he names Daphne. His first name is Niles (reference to Frasier ^_^) 19. The City has a prosperous croquet team called "The City Clangers." 20. The Snickets were born in San Francisco. They moved to The City after their parents died. 21. The Denouement triplets had an older sister named Lucia, who died of leukaemia at the age of eight. 22. Kit is exactly two years older than Dewey. They were born on the same day (26th April)

Thank you ;D I want to write a fanfic about Mr. Poe, but whenever I start one, I always seem to lose interest and/or inspiration by the end of the first page. I imagine he would be quite fun to write for ;D

Oh yes, Sunny is definitely gay. The reason I think this is that, given Lemony's 'I fear it will be quite some time...'., I thought it would be nice if one of Beatrice's daughters married a woman - and as Violet has already shown an interest in the opposite sex, it's more likely to be Sunny. (Last time I brought this up, nominatissima pointed out that V could be bisexual, which is true, of course, but by then I had already formed plans for her.)
So: 1. Sunny is gay. 2. Bruce is gay. (There are hints of this in canon.) 3. The Duchess is gay, and was at one time in love with Beatrice (I don't think everyone is gay - but it would take a long time to list everyone who isn't. I don't think of Sir/Charles as headcanon.) 4. Charles is Esme's brother. 5. Fiona and Fernald's father is Mr Fagin, the 19th cousin who refused to adopt the Baudelaires at the beginning of TVV. 6. Humphrey (mentioned in one of the stories told near the end of The End) is the missing Anwhistle sibling, and Weyden is his daughter. 7. Olaf kissed Kit for the first time at the age of seven - this is what Beatrice was taunting him about when she said 'you'll fail'. However, their relationship was resumed later on, and Kit's breaking it off was one of the things that caused him to become an out-and-out villain. 8. Klaus is destined to end up with Friday. (V, S and young B will marry people from outside the series.) 9. Lemony's father's first name was Endeavour, but he preferred to use his middle name, which was Jacob.

Is Endeavour a reference to Inspector Morse?

Is Endeavour a reference to Inspector Morse? Yes indeed. (The point is that in the family tree, it looks like his initial is E, but elsewhere we're told he was called Jacob. This would make sense if his first name, beginning with E, was embarrassing, and so he used his middle name. And the obvious embarrassing first name beginning with E, as all Inspector Morse fans know, is Endeavour.) And Violet is bi. Well Hermes I have agree with you there. Ah no, I don't say that, only that she might have been. My Violet is totally straight. Beth: I really like the idea of a prosperous croquet team. The third Poe sibling is also very plausible - well spaced-out families are after all well-known in VFD (are the Poes a VFD family in your world?) (But was Mrs Poe actually around during TPP?) OK some more, which I have been reminded of by some of the ideas of other people. 10. Esme's maiden name, and hence Charles's surname, is Love. 11. The fate of most people who were caught in the hotel fire is unknown; however, Justice Strauss and Mr Poe certainly died, and Esme, Carmelita and Hal survived. Hal took over the running of the underwater library. (It is he who was making a terrible curry for Lemony on the day he was writing TPP.) 12. Jacques and Kit are twins. (This has some canon support, but the indications are a bit cryptic.) 13. Lemony was the youngest person ever to be recruited to VFD, because at the time of the schism all the children on their list were hastily recruited, to save them from possible burning. This is why a song was written about it. Normally, children were recruited at the age of eight or so, while Lemony was only two - but pretended to be even younger (like Sunny in TSS) in the hope this would prevent him being carried off. 14. Fernald and Fiona have a sister, closer in age to Fernald, and possibly called Flora, who left to become a Female Finnish Pirate. 15. The events take place on an island which occupies roughly the same space as California in the real world. The City is on the site of San Francisco. (This explains how it can have a North American feel, and yet they can refer to North America as if it were somewhere else.)

This would make sense if his first name, beginning with E, was embarrassing, and so he used his middle name. And the obvious embarrassing first name beginning with E, as all Inspector Morse fans know, is Endeavour.) Aah, I thought so. I remember reading somewhere that his initial was E. However, I completely disgarded this and named him David. (David Snicket has a really nice flow in my opinion, but I couldn't think of any good names that began with E.) I decided to have Jacob as Jacques' middle name. So that means in my ficverse, that E is also a fake name. Or it possibly refers to HIS mother, Evadne. Thank you. I tried to think of the most boring sport ever (yes, more boring than football/soccer!) and croquet seemed like a very Snickety sport ;D I can't exactly remember if Mrs. Poe is in TPP, but I believe she is. I'm re-listening to the audiobook at the moment, so I'll find out sooner or later And no, they're not part of VFD. They're just really incompetent lol. But in another headcanon, there is something very suspicious about the death of Poe's brother. So I'm a bit undecided on whether his brother was indeed part of VFD. Some more about the Poes, and some others: 1. Mr. Poe and his sister had an older brother named Edwin, who was their legal guardian after their parents died. He was later stabbed at the age of twenty four. 2. Mr. Poe is the middle child. 3. Edwin was the same age of Lemony and was his classmate at Prufrock. 4. Edwin was four years older than Mr. Poe, and twelve years older than Eleanora. 5. Polly's full name is Pollyanna, though prefers to be called Polly. 6. Polly is five years older than her husband. 7. Edgar is sometimes referred to as "Eddie." He is the younger sibling. 8. Albert is referred to as "Bert" or "Bertie." He is the oldest sibling. 9. In The Bad Beginning, they are nine and eleven years old. 10. Eleanora was a child prodigy. 11. Mr. Poe's office door reads "Arthur A. Poe." (LOL for some reason saying that out loud tickles me) 12. Edwin's middle name was Allan. 13. Albert was born when Mr. Poe was twenty years of age, while Polly was twenty five. They briskly married. 14. Contrary to popular belief, Frank is the evil Denouement triplet. Most people confuse him with Ernest. 15. Olivia Caliban (Madame Lulu) is the sister of Thursday. 16. How to tell Quigley and Duncan apart: Duncan has messy hair while Quigley keeps his hair neat. 17. At the start of the series, Sunny is a year old. 18. Count Olaf's elderly grandmother was present at the infamous La Forza Del Destino showing. She was not injured. 19. Count Olaf's father's name is also Count Olaf. 20. Olaf helped Olivia build Caligari Carnival. 21. Olivia prefers to be called "Ollie." 22. Edgar Poe later married and had a family with Sir's youngest daughter, Emily. 23. Tony has a crush on Olaf. (Aww!) 24. Monty and Kevin were close companions when Kevin was in VFD Training School. Monty was working there as an assistant. 25. VFD members can choose not to have the eye insignia, though it is mostly preferred. These people must always carry a membership card with them. 26. Besides Sir and Georgina, Charles' best friend is his cousin, Kit. 27. Sir and Charles later adopted a four year old boy from Wyoming named Gerald. 28. Gerald later went on to be a Broadway actor and produced eight children from 1966 to 2001 by five different mothers. 29. Charles is twenty years younger than Sir. 30. Kevin's surname is Copperfield.

First off, I'm thinking that this topic is really better off being in the Fan Fiction forum.
That being said, here's my list:
1. The series takes place between September of 1981 and March of 1982.
2. The Quagmire boys resemble Michael J Fox, while Isadora resembles Lea Thompson.
3. Lorraine Baines is the Quagmire's mother.
4. Dr. Emmett Brown is distantly related to the Baudelaires.
5. Jerome Squalor resembles Crispin Glover.
6. Violet and Quigley get married, as do Klaus and Isadora.
7. Lemony Snicket is two years younger than Jacques and Kit.
8. Lemony Snicket was born 25 years prior to that of the real life Daniel Handler.
9. Lemony Snicket and Daniel Handler (in-universe) resemble each other, except in hair and eye colour. They were also born on the same date.
10. Jerome Squalor divorces Esme, and marries Justice Strauss.
11. Justice Strauss' real name is Katherine, and is called "Kathy".
12. The Quagmire triplets replace Marty McFly, while Jerome replaces George McFly.
13. The sinister duo and some buddies started working from within to destroy the VFD in 1948 (when Jacques and Kit were four).
14. The schism was officially recognized by 1965.
15. The burning of the Hotel Denouement occurred in 1982.
16. The sinister duo meet their death in 1999, thereby ending the bad side of the VFD - and, later that year, The Bad Beginning is published.
Brunch, in your ficverse, what happens to the Quagmires?
