I'm afraid I couldn't resist removing the extra "n" from the subject line; I hope you don't mind, Brunch. For what it's worth, I wish I had some Headcannons.

I think there is a question to be asked of whether this belongs here or in the fanfiction forum, given that a lot of these headcanons have, frankly, very little to do with canon. But I'll allow it because it's theoretical. I'm afraid I couldn't resist removing the extra "n" from the subject line; I hope you don't mind, Brunch. For what it's worth, I wish I had some Headcannons. The reason I fixed it was because I couldn't think of anything else.

I know I've asked questions similar to this before, but I've always kept them in the Fan Fiction forum. That's why I've mentioned it.
Here are some more:
17. The ASOUE Universe isn't really any worse than "our" world. They just deal with some different problems.
18. Violet and Quigley prefer hard rock and heavy metal, while Klaus and Isadora prefer softer music. Duncan likes pretty much everything. Fiona isn't really that much into music.
19. Friday Caliban survives, due to her mother's insistence. She later is adopted by Jerome Squalor and Justice Strauss.
20. Jerome Squalor and Justice Strauss also have a biological son, named Bertrand Jacques Squalor - named after two people that Jerome care a lot about.
21. As they get older, young Bertie and young Bea have a relationship with each other.
22. Bertie and Bea are huge fans of heavy metal, but they are not elitists. They do like nu-metal and metalcore, along with "real" metal.
23. The Snow Scouts never were in the Hotel Denouement. They escaped with Fernald and Fiona.
24. R of Winnipeg's name is Rhianna Winnipeg, and her children are Rhett and Rhonda. They do live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada - and it's the oldest daughter that takes on the title of Duchess upon her mother's death.
25. Olaf was always a bit of a troublemaker and a jerk - but he didn't really become evil until sometime during the '60s, after his parents were killed.
26. Inspired by Jerome, Charles finally stands up to Sir - and sues Sir for complete ownership of Lucky Smells Lumbermill.
27. Charles and Phil end up in a relationship with each other.

Despite the fact that I dislike Phil, I think he and Charles would make an adorable couple! ^_^

Hey, thanks! Why do you dislike Phil, though?

@veryfunkydisco In my ficverse the Quagmires escape the great unknown, but are never re-united with the Baudelaires.
I agree, perhaps this thread does belong in Fanfcition. I put it in Sardonic Series, because I wasn't quite sure what the nature of the Headcanons would be.

Hey, thanks! Why do you dislike Phil, though? He just really annoys me. For some reason, I have a real problem with happy, cheerful people haha. 1. Count Olaf has three children in total. The first is Joshua, who was born stillborn on 28th November of 1918. Then Anastasia was born in 1919. His third and final child, Moses, was born on 9th November of 1939. 2. Fiona is a tomboy and has never worn female clothes because she owns Fernald's hand-me-downs. 3. She also wears breast-binding from time to time because she is self-conscious of her breast size. 4. Phil is divorced. His wife had eight black children throughout their marriage, obviously having an affair behind his back. (I imagine him to be Caucasian)

Fiona did seem to be a bit of a feminist. She's one of the very few characters that I imagine to not really be into music, because I don't think she really had much opportunity to listen to music. I also imagine her to look like the actress who played Velma in the live-action film of Scooby-Doo.

Several headcanons :
1) Esmé was born a Quagmire. After she betrayed the "noble" side of VFD, her relatives disowned her, making her maiden name illegal to use. 2) R is a lesbian, so she chose to give her ring to Lemony because the birhtline of Winnipeg would go extinct. 3) Mr Poe is actually vaguely aware of what VFD really is, much like Sir. It's really tricky because he has a lot of financial ties and obligations to everyone but can never tell which side of VFD they belong to. Putting the Baudelaires in the care of Olaf was his biggest screw-up and he always regretted not telling them he had made a terrible mistake. 4) Jérôme was a close friends of Beatrice and Lemony, so they considered giving him an application for VFD membership. They were escorting him to the Mortmain Mountmains but trouble arised on the way and Jérôme acted like a dirty coward all the way through, urging the gang to reconsider and not tell him the true purpose of this trip. 5) Esmé had a crush on Lemony during her adolescence, and often wonders what would have happened to her had she chosen to pursue the "nice guy." 6) Ike was thrown into the sea by treacherous realtors belonging to the other side of VFD. Due to post-traumatic nevrosis, Josephine doesn't remember really well what actually happened that day and her phobias show her memories are resurfacing. 7) The Baudelaire parents were planning to sell various VFD secrets to the other side of the schism in exchange for their children's protection. The meeting happened on the day of the fire and Olaf, who was present, didn't really like that proposal. Things kind of escalated and resulted in the fire. 8) Though not actual cousins, Bertrand and Beatrice are close relatives and grew up together. Beatrice partly used Lemony to cover up the quasi-incestuous overtones of her relationship with Bertrand, which their family would have disapproved.

That certain would explain where Josephine's fear of realtors comes from.
Here are some more for mine:
28. Duncan Quagmire is with Jennifer Parker.
29. Friday Caliban is the younger half-sister of Fernald and Fiona.
30. As Sunny gets older - she has no memory of the series of unfortunate events that she, Violet, and Klaus went through.

Anyone interested in Josephine vs. realtors should dig up my old fanfic, Realtors in the Cave. I guess that reflects some of my headcanon-y opinions.

You guys have all brought up some things that I never really thought of before - as most of my head canon revolves around the Baudelaires, the Quagmires, Jerome Squalor, Justice Strauss, and Friday. If you guys don't mind, I might incorporate some of your ideas into my head canon. If you guys want to incorporate some of my ideas into your head canon, I'm completely fine with that.
31. Josephine had a nasty encounter with realtors, in the past.
32. Carmelita Spats' parents are neglectful of her, with Bruce Spats being her surrogate father.
33. The Snow Scouts was formed in the mid-'70s, when Carmelita was very young.
34. Shortly after the events, a rock band called Very Fine Dudes is formed. Two of the three members were a part of the actual VFD.
35. Back in the '70s, Very Fine Disco was a popular hang-out for young people. The whole franchise was started by a member of the actual VFD, with many VFD employees.
36. Village of Fowl Devotees was spawned from the actual VFD back in the 1600's, and were the first European settlers in the West.
37. The Veritable French Diner franchise was started by a member of the actual VFD, with many VFD employees.
38. Volunteers Fighting Disease was a volunteer group started by a group of beatniks back in the the '50s, many of them from the actual VFD. They were quite popular with hippies in the late-'60s.
39. The powder-face women and their sister were triplets.
40. The Person of Indeterminate-Gender was born intersex.

I've heard of your fic, but I haven't actually read it. I'll go and have a look at it when I get home. (right now I'm in the middle of the university library haha) 1. There are two sides to Dark Avenue. One half is where the rich/privileged people live, the other half is where the poor people live. 2. The poor half was where Esme grew up with her father, Jeff. 3. She went back to live with him throughout her pregnancy with Moses. 4. Esme was mugged one night, and one of the muggers went back to see if she was all right. 5. This mugger, Joel Fisher, became her boyfriend and Moses' surrogate father. 6. He later fathered two children with Esme, Ethan and Patience. 7. Joel is nineteen years younger than Esme. They met when he was nineteen and she was thirty eight. 8. Jerome remarried to a woman named Lysandra. 9. Their only child, William, was conceived through IVF. 10. Esme and Joel's daughter Patience was also conceived through IVF. 11. This is how Esme and Jerome get back in to contact and become close friends. 12. Count Olaf was accused of killing his unborn sister. 13. Olaf was an occasional smoker in his youth, only smoking to get rid of stress. Nowadays, he only smokes socially. 14. Kit calls Lemony "Lem." 15. Sir dies in 1952 at the age of sixty three due to lung cancer. 16. Monty had a childhood phobia of frogs. 17. Due to having a stillbirth at sixteen, Kit was afraid to have any more children until she became pregnant with Beatrice II at the age of thirty seven. 18. The Snickets siblings' grandparents, Chas and Evadne, were born and raised in Manchester, England. They never lost their accents, even when they lived in America. 19. The name of Olaf's childhood teddy bear was "Teddy Roosevelt." 20. Thursday and Friday were named after the days they were born. (a bit of an obvious one ) 21. Frank and Ernest enjoy pretending to be one another just to confuse people. 22. Kevin's mother died when he was a teenager, forcing him to live with his abusive father. 23. Colette was born in Paris and was part of her family's circus. 24. Hugo's surname is Victor. 25. Olivia has no life skills at all, and she became a fortune-teller after her careers advisor advised her take up a job in the desert. 26. Kevin was raised in a caravan, moving from place to place every few months. 27. During the events of the series, Evadne and Chas are alive. They are living at The Postlethwaite Retirement Home. Although Jacques was a regular visitor, Kit and Lemony never visited them.

For what it's worth, I wish I had some Headcannons. I think Neal Stephenson writes about them somewhere. I think there is a question to be asked of whether this belongs here or in the fanfiction forum, given that a lot of these headcanons have, frankly, very little to do with canon. But I'll allow it because it's theoretical. I have tried to stick to things in the background of canon as I imagine it - though I suppose I went beyond that with Klaus/Friday. I haven't brought in things from my extended universe, like the Stephenson family (though come to think of it, even they have a kind of canon source). thedoctorwell - I totally agree with you about R. Here is my take on a couple of others of yours: 16. Beatrice's maiden name is Baudelaire, and she and Bertrand are distant cousins - though not actually blood relations, as Bertrand was adopted (by three orphans who called him after their father). However, they did not know each other as children. 17. The Poes are an old VFD family, but dropped out during the schism. This explains Mr Poe's rather uncertain knowledge of VFD things. The same is true of the Spatses and the Scht-, the Chz-, the Jsch-, the family which owns Lucky Smells Lumbermill. VFDisco - I agree with you that many of the 'VFDs' are linked in origin with the Volunteer Fire Department. 18. The Village of Fowl Devotees used to supply carrier crows to the other VFD, but broke the connection at the schism. However, Hector's father kept in touch with some of his VFD friends, which explains how in TUA Jacques and Lemony seem to know Hector. 19. Charles is an old member of VFD, long inactive. (I can't, however, decide whether Esme was a member. Possibly Charles was recruited before Esme was born, and by the time she was of an age for it their family had also lost interest.) (I see my post-count is equal to the year. But not after I post this, of course.)
