The website definitely sounds fan made, "What We Are: Welcome to Anwhistle Aquatics, a blog dedicated to giving you the most up-to-date information regarding former employee Lemony Snicket, this Netflix Business, The Daily Punctilio, and any other veritable fact dispensaries we come across while Gregor is…away. Consider this a safe place, volunteers always welcome." That, to me, sounds like fans trying to gather the most informations in a single website. They have the voicemails recordings etc ... I don't know ... Curiouser and Curiouser ... All of this is getting further and further removed from the Netflix series. Which, in a way, helps me to enjoy it more; Until now, I've had this nagging in my head when I read about all these Eleonora Poe and Anwhistle Aquatic updates, always feeling that it would lose its validity if it wasn't connected to Netflix after all (bar of course the trailer, which is just too good to lose its value as an individual work). Now it's gone so far that I feel the connection to any eventual TV show disappearing completely into the horizon - and if it turns out that it's connected after all, well, that's just a pleasant surprise. For now, I'm following the AA tumblr for its own worth.

Apparently a Jacque Snicket account popped up on Twitter. Yet again with a number to call. Haven't called it myself, as I'm not sure it's smart to be calling a bunch of random strangers. From what I've found on Tumblr though, if you call it, it's a reading of a Charles Baudelaire poem called “L’Ennemi.” (The Enemy). Apparently the message has changed, but I can't tell if the thing I read meant it was changed from something else to the poem, or the other way around.

I've edited my original post to reflect the fact that pretty much everybody has concluded that the Anwhistle Aquatics blog is probably fan made (though if anybody would like to disagree my ears are open).
I think the Eleanora Poe account got a lot of attention because people thought it might be the person/people behind the teaser preparing to reveal themselves or something, but as we've seen with her tweets, the Eleanora Poe account has been completely unhelpful in the real vs fake vs something-in-between discussion in regards to the teaser. The Jacque Snicket account seems fake (or at least more fake than the Poe one), and at this point I think that unless they tweet something that's actually relevent, it really looks like people are cashing into the hype to get attention by making these Twitter accounts that are getting less and less related to the topic thing at hand: the teaser trailer.
Unfortunately in the past few days I do not believe there has been anything of relevance that could advance our discussion aside from these diversions on Twitter, and judging by the last few pages of this thread we haven't really reached a consensus as to whether the evidence we've gathered so far points to it being real or fake or something in between, so I guess unless somebody has something new to add we'll just have to wait until Netflix releases more information?

Anwhistle and Jacques both revealed themselves as fans tonight. Eleanora's twitter has said nothing, but I imagine we'll hear from her soon. I will say that, if you hover over Eleanora's name on Youtube, you'll see that it says there are 2 videos on her accoumt. Jonathan Bruno has recently posted the trailer under the "Commercial" section on his website (jonathan-bruno.com) and, unlike the American Horror Story fan-made teaser, which has a disclaimer saying it's fan made, as of the last time I checked the snicket teaser had no such disclaimer. Ofher than all of that, I don't believe there's any new info to be added to the pot. Everything is just as uncertain as it was a few days ago. ... At least not much has chamged. Not really.

Apparently the Elenora Poe line changed her message to one in seabald code (you can probably find it in full on tumblr, cba typing it out on a mobile), but it said 'Don't believe what we leave.' The anwhistle aquatics line changed their message to the snicket lad song and there is now an esme squalor phone line. Whilst I don't believe any these accounts are affiliated with netflix, it is a little strange how connected they are, how much effort they require and how elaborate they are. Nonetheless they're all good fun, and have me wishing i lived in the US so i could call too.
Definitely believe the trailer is still backed by/linked to netflix in some way though. Team #itsreal lives on.

A second video? The hover-over effect I'm not getting, but if there is a second video, my guess is it could be some kind of "making-of," and if that's the case it might well have reflections on the teaser's authenticity or otherwise.
The Eleanora Poe Twitter account... the vibe I get from that is that it's fake. Considering that the YouTube account has been left very blank, I don't think an associated Twitter account would interact with the rest of the world the way it has (though that would render extraordinarily hypocritical its sniffiness about imitation, but it's the lack of professionalism that is suspicious). There's also the rumour that the original teaser creators have no idea who's behind the Twitter... My inclination is that everything beyond the teaser video itself is gamejacking. The teaser itself we can be pretty sure by now was only backed by Netflix if that, and as such is meaningless regardless of whether it's linked to Netflix or not.

I've seen the 2 videos thing, but there's only one video up on the account... Btw, is everyone up to date on all the phone numbers we can call? there are 3, but only 2 work now; you can call Elenora Poe at (805)399-0833, Jacques Snicket at (331)234-7323, and Anwhistle Aquatics at (929)274-3473, although I've been calling Anwhistle and it may be disconnected now. For people who are unable to call, Elenora Poe's number will simply say "I thought you said the game was over" and Calling Jacques will get you a longer message, but it's all in French, if someone wants to translate it, please do, cause I'm at a loss

To be honest, it doesn't sound as if there's really anything worth investigating at this point. I would be interested in Jacques's French message, even though, again, it probably has nothing to do with anything.

Yea, it might not Be anything, but the mystery and the length fans will go to for other fans is fun

Even when it's all all all fake, or just a part of it, I'm amazed with ASOUE/Lemony Snicket fandom. I'm even proud of them somehow. I'd call but the international phonecall would kill my bank account in a minute.

Filmmakers I would be interested in seeing as the director for the Netflix series: Alfonso Cuaron Rian Johnson Sam Raimi Paul Greengrass Joel and Ethan Coen Henry Selick Ang Lee Tim Burton (to an extent) Guillermo Del Toro

Yeah, I think most of them wouldn't be interested (unfortunately). Except for Rian Johnson maybe. I could also imagine Raimi, which would be cool.

Rian Johnson is currently slated to write and direct Star Wars Episode 8, so i imagine his plate is full.

To everyone wondering about the phone numbers still: Anwhistle Acquatics and Jacques Snicket have both come out as fans. Eleanora's twitter hasn't officially said anything, but she also hasn't posted a tweet in nearly a week at this point. Plus, she's at 13 tweets at the moment so I wouldn't be surprised if she never tweets again just to keep that cool little detail (the fact that she stopped at 13 tweets) a "thing". Eleanora hasn't given a statement verifying whether she's fan or Netflix or anything, all we know is that she's actively asked fans to "live the questions now" which I think pretty strongly implies she's not budging. She could still be Netflix, but I'm not putting too much money on it. And there's still nothing indicating that she knows anyone involved with the creation of the trailer, whether Netflix is behind that in any capacity or not. Long story short, I think the twitter game is over at this point. 2 of the 3 accounts were revealed as fan-run, but I still had a ridiculous amount of fun playing nonetheless. These are some really dedicated fans, and Anwhistle Acquatics even said they started out with the intention of just investigating the trailer, and the tip line was supposed to be a genuine tip line for anyone who may have had any information on the trailer to report in, but when they started seeing fans using it in different ways they constructed a game around it. Personally, I'm not offended whatsoever by any of the goings on. Real or fake, I had an awesome time and the fans really rose from the ashes to support this, which can only be a good thing for the Netflix series from where I'm sitting. I still think Netflix may have some kind of ties back to the trailer, and I think it's still worth investigating any leads we may come across. I for one had a blast with this whole thing, but I suppose I can see why some people may be angered.
I will admit, however, that I fail to see how the trailer is "meaningless" Dante. If it's backed by Netflix, it's a great indication of the idea that they understand this series and its themes. They're playing with us, they're dropping hints and clues to us, it's honestly really cool in my opinion. If it's not backed by Netflix, well, then the fact that they're denying it but allowing it to stay up is probably indicative of the idea that this is close to a direction they were going to go, at least tonally speaking. I don't think it's "meaningless" either way. It's not a definite indication of exactly what the show is going to be if it is real, but it's certainly a reassuring start. Just my opinion. Could be wrong, could be right, but that's exactly the point, I don't think any of us have the authority to say that someone's art is "meaningless". Whether it's officially condoned by the people making a series later on or not. Sorry, but as someone who's currently in film school I'm very cautious to call anyone's creations "meaningless". It just caught my eye. Hope I didn't offend you if you see this.

That's fine, and you're entitled to your opinion. My own opinion is based on what is implied by the word "meaning." What meaning were people looking for in the teaser? What they were looking for were indications of what the Netflix series would be like in style, tone, and quality. If the teaser was not, however, produced by Netflix, if Netflix had no creative input, then even if they happened to fund it, the teaser would be meaningless to the Netflix series, valueless in what it presents itself as being, and nothing but a cynical attempt to whip up publicity over a production that has absolutely nothing to show for itself. It's a truly excellent fanwork, and it could easily have been presented as just an excellent fanwork, and there would have been no problem. However, integral to its identity was its presentation of itself as linked to Netflix. If those links turn out to be hollow, the overt purpose of the teaser disappears. That is my opinion, as one who was quite excited about and interested in the teaser until all the flim-flam about authenticity came out and tarnished the experience. I should have known better.
...In reading this over before posting it, I noticed that I had originally ended the first sentence as "...but you're entitled to my opinion." Read into that whatever you want...
