I wonder if I can figure out what the border's supposed to be...Looks like fire, perhaps.
And I was correct in predicting that they'd write "Art Too Depressing to Show" on it.

I originally thought that it was simply a rip-off of the American THH, but they seem to be slightly different shades of orange, and the thorns are different colours. I can't make out a border, either.

The spine looks roughly the same color as the American TEE, only more orangey.
When they released TGG's cover in the same manner, they used the spine(brown) and border(snow gnats) from TSS. This time, they may have used the actual cover for book 12.
I wonder when we'll actually get the real thing.

I tried to get a better look at the border by modifying it in MS Photo Editor, but I couldn't get anything. It just looks like a dark red line with slightly lighter scribbles on it. I'm not sure if that's the entire border, or just a fragment of it. I think it's probably the latter, though.

Possibly, they cut out most of the actual border.
I tried contrast-enhancing it in Paint Shop, and it still looked like just a squiggly red line, not signifying much.
It would help if we had a bigger image, but this may be the largest one we'll get.

They haven't got this cover on Amazon.com yet. If they do, though, we may be able to get a clearer magnified image. Could you do that for the TGG teaser cover when it was on Amazon.com?

I don't remember if you could magnify it. However, I'll keep a watch on Amazon to see if this cover shows up there anytime soon.

Finally, a little progress.
No information on either lemonysnicket.com or harperchildrens yet.
I agree with you about not being the whole border yet. They will probably wait on that. But this might be the spine color we'll get. And with the red thorns it makes me think the book will deal with fire a lot.

I thought the spine color would be yellow, like goldenrod yellow. I think the border is fire, but it could be something else. Also the spine color and thorn color is different; I think that it points towards flames or fire. Maybe another building gets burned?

Thanks, Dante, for posting this.
I also think that the part of the border we do see, looks somewhat like fire. I tried to get a closer look at it by using Photo Editor, but it didn't help much

Interesting, but not particularly helpful. *sigh* 6 more days until the first real clue on thenamelessnovel.com...

Orangish red is like fire. So maybe there will be a big fire.
