I just turned up this article today; it's apparently months old, so I can't believe it's been overlooked for so long - especially since it contains such important information, if it is indeed truthful. Here's the link, but there's only one paragraph that's remotely important, that one which I quote afterwards.

But it's really Book the Thirteenth, the last installment, that will have everyone in a tizzy. Asked to elaborate on the series' possible denouement, Handler says little. When pressed, he adds: "Book thirteen marks the return of a reptile previously gone missing."
Note that while discussion of this particular instance, and speculation upon it, belongs here, attempts to tie it into the plot of B13 as a whole, on a larger scale, would probably belong in our B13 Speculation Thread.
My speculation: Quite a few of us, based on remarks made by Olaf in TSS and a postcard from a couple who apparently own the ship Prospero in the U.A., believe the Incredibly Deadly Viper to have been smuggled on board the Prospero, which then set sail early - the only reptile from Dr. Montgomery's collection, perhaps, not to have been captured by Count Olaf. The return of the Incredibly Deadly Viper would certainly prove especially interesting for Sunny, who was great friends with the Viper, and the return of the Prospero would be fitting - given B13's apparent ocean setting, some believed it would return anyway. So, in summary, I believe this information indicates that the Prospero will appear in B13, with the Incredibly Deadly Viper on board.
