Original idea by Akbar Le Grey
So, yay, it's that time again ladies and gentleman! The next issue of the 667er is here! Wooooo!
This time around there are some new things. Charlie has interviewed some people about some stuff, and those people have answered, and now you can read that. Bee has also done a thing, and its about stuff. Anka is the guest artist, even though she did the art a while ago. And there is a new 'history of 667' column, and its pretty darn cool. There are also things from last time. There's another rant, though not by lemona. Sophie has done a poem Charlie is kpopping all over the place, and pandora has power rankings. maybe. As i type i don't have them yet but maybe by some luck they arrive on time.
But also i should say a special thanks to lemona, who not only made a load of awesome banners last time, but has made a load of awesome banners this time, and probably have to make more next time too. so, lemona, if i could i would make you a banner saying how awesome you are. But i can't. sorry.

Lets pet on it with it
Lets pet on it with it
1. I'm turning 17, and wanna have a birthday party, what should I do for it?
Anka- Invite people I guess. Also get some food for them
Pen- Think about the emptiness of existence and cry. but maybe have cake also.
Rellim- LAZER TAG!
Lemona- Either have a really cliche party where every piece of decoration and food has either the word "happy" or the word "birthday" on it, or do something that is nothing like a birthday party at all. Like, I dunno, go look at the Aurora Australis while burying yourself gradually into a portable sandpit until only your head remains, nap, then go out for dinner.
2. Is it disconcerting to you how eerily close (17th and 18th of March) me & Pen's birthdays are? Do you suspect governmental conspiracy, because I certainly do?
Anka- Yes, that was clearly done only to confuse me. I normally remember everyone's birthday, but I keep forgetting which is which with those. I try to remember it by rembering that Pen's birthday is on St. Patrick's Day, but then I keep forgetting which of the days that is.
Pen- Is it disconcerting to you how eerily close (17th and 18th of March) me & Pen's birthdays are? Do you suspect governmental conspiracy, because I certainly do?
Rellim- It's not disconcerting at all, it's exactly they way we planned it to be and stop asking so many questions of course there's no conspiracy ¬_¬
Lemona- Of course.
3. What's your favourite thing that happened in 1998 besides my birth?
Anka- My sister's birth I guess. Even though she can be really annoying.
Pen- www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jtZx9LNpAY
Rellim- Michelle Kwan. Michelle Kwan was my favorite thing that happened in all of the 90s, including my own birth.
Lemona- I was alive, so basically just my continued existence was the best thing to happen that year. Your placenta's birth was pretty cool though, ngl.
4. What is your favourite type of cake to eat at birthdays, such as mine? Why?
Anka- Anything with chocolate or marzipan or both. Because I like that.
Pen- Chocolate cake, and don't you listen to any other answer. It's the only right option.
Rellim- Apple pie with the crumbly crust, NOT the pastry crust, with a scoop of cinnamon ice cream.
Lemona- I like practically all kinds of cake, expect for pecan cake. I think pecans taste awful, plus I have bad memories of continuously calling them "toucans" as a kid by mistake. Basically, birthday cake is important, and cake on any other day is just as important. Although the bird, to tell you the truth, is still a little despondent.
5. What did you do for your birthday last year? Is it okay if I copy?
Anka- On my birthday I danced with other people from my dancing school on a christmas market, ate cake with my family and had a really bad cough. I don't think you will find a christmas market at this time of the year, and I don't think you want to have a cough, but if you want you can copy.
Pen- Just had a burger with friends. was pretty meh. copy away if you want your birthday to be meh.
Rellim- OMG YES YOU SHOULD IT WAS ickleING AWESOME. So first I woke up in a fancy hotel suite surrounded by awesome family members, then I went to Universal Studios Hollywood and rode all the rides a million times because I had front of the line passes for eeeeverything so I didn't have to wait in any lines at all. After spending most of the day there I went home and showered and immediately afterward a large group of my bestest friends began showing up at my apartment. There was beer, whiskey, and tequila abounding. Then we all took taxis to the bowling alley because none of us could drive at this point and proceeded to play a couple rounds of bowling before eventually going to a nearby bar until bar close and walking home which is a notable detail because it is the first time I've ever walked home from a bar in Los Angeles and back home I pretty much always walked home from the bars and greatly enjoyed doing so. Then I slept splendidly in my bed. You should do all of that exactly, including sleeping splendidly in my bed.
Lemona- I slept late, had a picnic in the mountains, did not eat pecan cake, received well wishes from my adoring public, then chilled out by myself in the evening. This last part involved drinking orange juice and having one of the worst choking fits of my life while listening to Mr Merritt. Should not have been drinking it while lying on my back. You can copy at your own risk.
6. What would you buy me for my birthday if we were in such a situation that gift purchasing was both convenient and economical?
Anka- I don't know. I'm terrible at finding presents for people. But I would try to find something awesome.
Pen- the kpop industry. Like Orange Caramel or their bosses, I don't know, I've never bought a girlgroup before.
Rellim- Life size cut out of OC Lizzy.
Lemona- $3. (Backstory: I accidentally ripped Charles off for $3 one time.)
7. If by cataclysmic horrible accident you could only save me and one celebrity, and send me and that celebrity to a birthday island on which it was always my birthday, who would you choose to come with me? No, none of you are celebrities, I'm sorry, you're all likely burning to death rn.
Anka- I don't really know any celebrities, so I would just ask every person I see if they are one and then save the first person who says yes and hope you don't find them annoying.
Pen- well, if I were to try to please you, I'd probably say Tina Fey. But since you'd let me die in this scenario, then probably someone like Seth MacFarlane.
Rellim- Oh, I didn't even read this one before I answered the last one. OC Lizzy, obvi.
Lemona- If I'm burning (for which I'll take your word) how can I save anyone?
8. What hors d'oeuvres should I serve at my birthday? Why did you choose what you chose?
Anka- hors what?
Pen- Something fried. Possibly with cheese, because cheese.
Rellim- Stuffed jalapeños cause they're delicious with just the right amount of spice. Shrimp because isn't that what all ya'll eat down there? Also falafel because no one doesn't like falafel.
Lemona- I don't generally bother with hors d'oeuvres, so do whatever you want on that front. That is the only front on which you can do what you want. The only area of your life in which you have free choice. Use it well.
9. If your birthday happened to be rescheduled so that it took place on my birthday (March 18th), would you be pleased or displeased? It's a nice time of year in Australia, but is it in your country of residence?
Anka- That depends if the change would make me older or younger. If it was changed so I was still born in the same year I wouldn't like that because that would make me 8 months and 11 days older and I don't want to be older. If it was changed so I was born in March 1994, which would be a shorter difference to my actual birthday, that would be cool I guess. But also I kind of like having a birthday in late november, because november is the most misunderstood and underrated time of the year, at least in the nothern parts of the world. Spring is boring, everyone likes spring.
Pen- Technically, during my birthday here in Brazil, it'd already be the 18th in Australia, so *technically* it already takes place during your birthday! Hooray!
Rellim- I'd be displeased because I'm already a big celebrater of St. Patrick's Day and that'd be two days of heavy drinking in a row. I'm not as young and spritely as I used to be, ya know.
Lemona- I would be sad to lose my centaur (Sagittarius). And my country of residence is yours, so you'd have to look out. The weather may be nice, but March 18th in Australia isn't big enough for us both.
10. What do you look for in a birthday? Balloons or streamers?
Anka- Cake.
Pen- Definitely balloons.
Rellim- BOTH DUH WHO JUST DOES ONE??
Lemona- Oxygen and gravity.

Now it's time for a rant. But not by the person you'd expect
The Problem with thursday
It's thursday that's the problem. No, not the day, thursday itself it's a good day. It's the same as any other. 24 hours, each one with 60 minutes, each minute with 60 seconds, ticking themselves along, waiting for their time to finish. But that's the thing with thursday, its a day of waiting. Not that that's a bad thing.
It's the same as December 23rd. In a way. The day after it is Christmas Eve, and then you can start to get excited for the presents the next day. But the presents in this situation being the weekend, and Christmas Eve being friday. Friday is the best day ever. The last working day of the week! A day for celeberation and partying and yay fun!
But that's exactly the problem. So much attention is thrown on friday, that I can't help but feel sorry for little old thursday. It's the day before the day before. The clam before the storm.
I like the calm.
To me, anticipating the anticipation is as fun as anticipating itself. Thursday is the anticipation of anticipating. It's the day of the week I look forward to most, more than friday. But I think it goes a bit further than that.
When I was younger, thursday was, without a shadow of a doubt, the day my nan went shopping. When my nan went shopping, she would buy me sweets. When i was very small it would be sherbert lemon's, or chocolate limes, or fudge, or dib dabs (oh I love a dib dab, I do). And as i got older... Chocolate! My mum was very strict with chocolate, forbidding me to have it except at special occasions (birthdays, christmas, etc). But when I was old enough the restriction was lowered to include thursdays when my nan goes shopping. My school days on thrusday would be ones of feverish excitement, waiting for the tick-tocking hands of the clock to reach 3.30 when I would run home and be confronted with a bar of chocoalte. Most weeks it was Cadbury's dairy milk, sometimes it was galaxy, or aero, or mars. I didn't really care, to be honest. It was chocolate.
The bar would be devoured in mere seconds, after which the day would continue relatively normally. Except for the dreaded bath. I used to hate bathtime, paticualarly as a child. But with a stomach full of chocolate, I didn't particularly mind.
Then, it all changed. One day, my nan started going shopping on fridays (Shocking, I know). Suddenly friday was chocoalte day, and thursday was now simply bath day. Oh no. The day I had once longed to come was now the day I dreaded.
But actually, it wasn't. I had gone so long anticipating thursdays, I couldn't suddenly stop. So I began a love/hate relationship with thursday. I looked forward to and dreaded thursdays with equal measure, with friday now becoming the dominant day of pleasure in my mind.
But thursdays were now a complete mess in Aspergic brain, and they still are. I can't seme to wrap my head around them. So that's the real reason why I post this quote every thursday eveyr day.
"This must be Thursday. I never could get the hang of Thursdays" - Arthur Dent via Douglas Adam
Okay, so I don't post it any more. Because it annoys you. FOR SOME REASON. And that was going to be the focus of my rant, you guys and gals getting annoyed by that. Ah well, I guess I've explained the meaning behind that quote.
Although... that's only a very small part of the story. I wasn't the one who even came up with the idea. In fact, that's a very interesting story, one that is sworn to secrecy. But I think I will finally tell the dark, horrible, terrible truth...... Oh but look, we're out of time. Better luck next time.
Now its time for everybodys favourite advice giver!
"Dear Pen,
What are we going to do without you?
-Editor"
Hey. It's mister M. Even though this is Anka's art, i feel a bit of explanation is necessary.
In the summer, i volunteer at a library during a summer reading challenge for children.. one of the activities available is for the children to colour in drawings on pieces of paper, and then i pin them onto the wall.
Last summer, Anka came with me to the library, and because she is cute, she coloured in a thing, and i hung it up on the wall.
Here is the thing
She left the drawing so as to be anonymous. Well, she isn't anymore...
And now for something a little different...
So hey it's me again. This week I focus on that girl group we should bow down and accept as perfect, 4minute.
"Who are 4minute?", you may ask. Important. If you didn't ask, then you'll learn anyway.
Unless you skip my article, in which case, you're dead to me.
The Basics
When I first heard 4minute, I thought "oh yeah, I like this band. They are fun". So I illegally downloaded one of their songs and listened to it a lot. As I became more entrenched in the kpop world though, I found out that it was unpopular to like 4minute, and especially their most notable member Hyuna (of Gangnam style fame). Because I am an impressionable little flower, I of course decided I didn't like 4minute. "They are bad singers" I told myself. "Their songs are not good" I told myself. "They legit can't even spell their own name" I told myself. The last one was true. In the last two months, through intensive ~self-assessment~, and ~re-evaluation~ of my ~worldview~ I have realised something amazing though. I actually highly enjoy the work of 4minute. They are trashy, and I love them.
The Members
There are like five whole members of 4minute, so bear with me for a moment.
Jihyun-
Jihyun is the leader of 4minute, has a legit dancing degree, and can totally flaunt it
Gayoon-
Gayoon is the lead vocalist of 4minute, is serious af, and has men falling over her
Jiyoon-
Jiyoon is the lead rapper of 4minute, loves to eat, and has this whole like thug thing going on, which is cool
Hyuna-
Hyuna is the lead dancer of 4minute, and also a splendid rapper, and basically, I love Hyuna okay, so nobody can say anything bad about her
Sohyun
Sohyun is the youngest member of 4minute, dances like a pro, and is absolutely freaking adorable.
The Legit Actual Song
Here it is!
That sure was something! I really actually enjoyed this song, and the whole of this album pretty much (except the ballad ew), so if you somewhat liked it I suggest you check the album out. I guess I happen to like trash, but hey, this song won some massive award thing last week or something, so I guess so does everyone. Perfect honesty, I didn't love this song when it came out, and was way more into Tickle Tickle Tickle (yes that's one of their song names). After hearing it fifty-ish more times, I really enjoy it. Kpop's like that.
Some bits of the song (and according to youtube commenters -everybody's most reliable source- dance moves) are extremely similar to parts of The Baddest Female, by 2NE1's CL, but hey, I think the song is good enough to excuse the plagiarism lol. I really enjoy the way that heavy rap chunks are broken up by melody bits, and shouty chorus bits. It's good.
As for the lyrics, they were non-problematic, but like nothing empowering or anything either. C'mon it's 4minute. The entirety is pretty much "Go crazy on the dance floor, people say I'm crazy on the dance floor, come get crazy with me and stop being so sad", which I guess is a fun peppy message, so that's cool. I was admittedly, really scared when I got to the part where they spelt "CRAZY", like spelling may not be their strong point ok, but I guess they really practised hard this time around. Also, call me dirty, but at the start, I am 100% certain Hyuna says "I'm the semen monster" which is just gross, but okay, apparently it's meant to be female. But then also I have difficulty believing that this wasn't intentional... sooooooooo...
PS. I stole my article title from 4minute's song Is it Poppin', so I guess I'm a plagiarist too oops.
Unrelated Kpop News
-Lizzy released a duet with some dude called Goodbye PMS, because Lizzy is perfect and should be foremost in all of your hearts
-Lizzy, 4minute's very own Sohyun, Kara's Youngji, and soloist Gna, released a cute song together called Magic Words, which is so cute you might just explode and die
-Amber, of f(x), released a solo album, with the title song Shake that Brass, which is actually really fun and great listening
Bye

And now for something very exciting
A new column by Linda Rhaldeen
Welcome to my new column, where I dig deep into the cavernous depths of 667's history and pull out interesting info. Every month will cover a different topic or event. Today's topic of interest: The 667er itself!
We'll start at the beginning: September 14th, 2005. Akbar Le Grey, an enterprising young journalist, had the idea to start a weekly magazine. At the time, 667 was much busier than it is now and as outlined in the original plan, Akbar wanted to have several correspondents, each covering a different section of the board. It would be a sort of cliff notes version of what was going on at 667. The debut issue was posted on September 18th, and contained a news story, board correspondents, weekly columns, an editorial, and creative submissions (art and poems).
The 667er was a big part of my history. I myself joined The 667er for its 7th issue, originally in charge of Interview of the Week column. I had a brief stint writing the weekly rant from issues 22 through 25, and eventually became the sub editor of the magazine, which usually meant staying up late on Saturday nights (Sunday morning in Pakistan, where Akbar lived at the time), and helping to get The 667er ready for publication over MSN Messenger. I would often write a news article at the beginning of the paper, which Akbar called the "lede", and he would write an editorial at the end.
As time went on, the focus moved away from board correspondents and more toward the weekly columns and one-off submissions. There was a huge variety in the submissions; an article I wrote for the New Year 2007 identifies 30 unique people who contributed to The 667er during the year of 2006, as well as the type of things they wrote (or drew, in a couple of cases). There were several features which were tried out and eventually discontinued, the 667er Group being notable among them.
2006 was the golden age of The 667er; it ran nearly every week that year, and sometimes gave reports midweek. In March of 2007, it took a 3-month hiatus, returning shortly before the site's 6th anniversary for 2 more weeks, and then was gone again until November. In April 2008, it finally ran out of steam, and was not seen for over 4 years.
In 2012, with talk of the forum's 10th Anniversary, The 667er was briefly revived, with Bee (Brunch at the time) acting as editor. However, it was not until January 2013 that The 667er finally returned. Charlie took over as editor and changed the format from weekly to monthly, and it ran for 8 issues (10 if you count the 2 Queen Editions), before Charlie's computer death and subsequent disappearance from the forum.
Just recently, Isadora Is a Door took over as editor, and now we're on our second issue of The Revived Revived 667er. Here's to many more issues, no matter what form they take!
Bonus content:
- The 667er Archives: an archive project Akbar, Sixteen and I created many years ago and which I have been working on getting up to date over the last week.
- Linda's favorite issue: Edition L, released on The 667er's one-year anniversary in which everyone wrote parodies of themselves.
- Trivia:
1. The 667er, while the longest-running, is not the only periodical 667 has had. The 668er by Charlotte and Pandora and The 667 Reporter by Kobolos are other notable periodicals. Mister M, current editor, even started a newspaper called The Daily Punctilio in 2013.
2. The Dark Avenue Gazette was suggested as a possible name for the magazine by Ennui.
3. The original run had 99 issues during a 27-month period (98 regular, and one mid-week edition specially for the 4th anniversary).
4. Akbar has since attended and graduated from Yale with a degree in journalism and is now a foreign affairs reporter for The Huffington Post.

most mysterious current 667ers.
1)Lucas
Sure, we think we know all about him- but do we? Really? All we know is that he supposedly lives in Australia, likes KPop and has a sister, but even these facts have never truly been confirmed. He logs in rarely, so we may now have no way of ever knowing.
2)BSam
Who?
3)Sherry Ann
I consider myself a friend of hers, and I still couldn’t tell you her exact age or place of residence. Okay, well actually yes, I could, I just couldn’t tell you.
4)Freebird
Seems like such a character and an elaborate, if somewhat pathetic persona, who knows what his deal really is?
5)Bandit
Whoops I forgot you actually have to be somewhat interesting to make this list.
That’s all folks. –Bee.

"Moldy cheese"
I relate sometimes
To a piece of cheese
Gathering mold
Sitting in a fridge
I really do feel the fridge part because
It's so. Damn. Cold.
Like the world outside my house is a giant ice box
In which its snowing
So I'm staying inside and growing mold it's pretty
/Chill/
One might say
I don't know how newspapers work and I don't care to know, but I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to be ranking people based on last month's events so because of Valentines Day and the much better Galentines Day I will be ranking based on love.
(lightning bolts) LOVE RANKINGS (lightning bolts)
10. Liz Miller 10/10 would spend vday with
9. Erica Reyes, not Charlie being Erica Reyes but actual Erica Reyes because she can get it. Damn girl
8. Cupid was busy last month! You can stick me with your arrows any day Cupid (it is hard to make a sexual innuendo about arrows and penetrating or poking or sticking without sounding skeevy so embrace the skeev everyone)
7. Hermes. Not all love is romantic, you pervs. Shout out to my grandpa for making it another month without keeling over! Love you grandpa!
6. Teleram got more Vday messages than I was expecting, which means someone (Charlie) must care for him a lot.
5. This spot goes to horse face for being a cutie (u kno who u r) <3
4. All the ladies single or otherwise
3. Nice to meet you
Where you been?
