Where is the clue in the end of the book? I can't find it! Is it the boat itself or the crows?

Maybe there isn't one. The letter to the editor was no help either. Maybe he won't reveal anything about the last book.

I think it's the flock of birds, possibly representing the eagles. There's also the water tower, which looks tiny and conspicuous (although, since it was also in the first picture, it's probably a red herring, like the blimp in TGG's last picture). I think it'd be rather pattern-breaking for it to be something big and obvious that's a main part of the picture and mentioned in the narrative.
Edit: Somebody else, I think, suggested that it could be the boat on the napkin that the editor letter was on. I disagree on that, on the grounds that the editor letters always have something to do with the next book.

It could possibly be the napkin. Since napkins are in eateries Book the 13th could be taking place in either The Anxious Clown, Cafe Kafka, Cafe Salmonella or the Veritable French Diner.

I think the boat on the napkin might be a clue to the next book; perhaps there's an ocean-themed restaurant someplace, where the napkin is from. At first I thought that Lemony might have sketched the pirate ship on the napkin, but it looks like it's printed on there.
But more likely, the flock of birds is the clue. Even if the birds aren't actually eagles(they look like crows or pigeons) they could represent the eagles.

Crows- that's a possibilty after all that in TVV. I think the crows, pigeons, egales, paper airplanes, or whatever they are, is the clue.

Could be. Or it could be the helmet containing the Medusoid Mycelium.

To me, the clue is the birds in the background, as some others have said.

Its hard to tell with this one, but my best guess would also be the flock of birds, the water tower is a longshot, and theres really nothing else that could be a clue.

The birds seem like a fair choice. They could represent eagles/crows/both. Hector and the Quag triplets were currently battling eagles as the 12th book took place, who knows if they've won, lost, or if the fight continues. But we could see more crow deliveries, and a restaurant could become a new vfd safe place. We could also see the eagles again. Maybe good vfd can take them back..

I think that maybe the boat on the napkin has to do with the Prospero and maybe it will uncover some more about J.S. for maybe he/she was on their way but ended up seeing the smoke. It's unlikely but not immpossible.

don't think it's the eagles/crows are the clue just because I don't want to believe it ('m bored of carrier pgeons, crows, eagles and other such bird species). When frst saw the pcture I thought water tower immediatly.

It could be, although I'm not sure why the ship would be on the napkin in the first place, apparently printed there. Say, maybe the ship is the Prospero, and the napkin is from that cruise ship.

That's quite possible. The blueprint of the Prospero in the U.A. didn't mention a restaurant, although there was a lounge.
