I think it's most likely the water tower, I studied it yesterday and the only other thing I found was the octopus.

Maybe there isn't one. The letter to the editor was no help either. Maybe he won't reveal anything about the last book. Oh no! I don't think I ever read the letter to the editor! I'll have to go check when I'm at work at the library tomorrow.

It's only a napkin.

Do you suppose that , assuming the napkin is from the Prospero, Lemony has given up on finding the sugar bowl and opts to make a safe getaway to some distant land?

It could possibly be the napkin. Since napkins are in eateries Book the 13th could be taking place in either The Anxious Clown, Cafe Kafka, Cafe Salmonella or the Veritable French Diner. It appears that the Anxious Clown is in the background of the opening pic.

That's impossible unless it's a chain, for the Anxious Clown is located in Aunt Josephine's town which is some distance from the city the baudelaires lived in where the Hotel Denouement is/was.

Olaf implied there was food aboard since he wanted to arrive early in trr "that way I'll have time for a bottle of wine before lunch." I suppose it'd be pretty cool to see the Prospero... How would the water tower be a clue though?

I think the clown thing was a drive-through (or, as the sign seems to say, "Drive Thru"). It could be part of an Anxious Clown chain, I guess, although the clown figurehead doesn't look anxious. Also, I still find it rather suspicious that the water tower is in both the first and last picture (and has a pointy-roofed tower next to it in both), even though I don't think it's the clue. If it was a clue, I guess it could imply that... Uh, there's a fire survivor hidden in a water tower in the last book? I guess it would be just as suitable a place as a fountain, and less cramped.
