I think that since its the last book in the series everything is a clue or nothing.

All i know is that it is not the water tower. There is a water tower at the end of the bad beginning

OMG your right!!!! Well done for making that connection. Actually all the tall imposing buildings look a lot like the ones in TBB. I guess that is understandable because if they were at Briny Beach beforehand they musn't be too far from their home/Olaf's home.

If the series is indeed a great cycle, as is implied in TGG, the Baudelaires might end up at Olaf's house again. We know they'll probably return to Briny Beach, so they could go back to the city as well.

I myself don't think they'll return to the city - merely to Briny Beach, which is some way away. I think the fire at Hotel Denouement marked a break away from such subplots and locations, demonstrated by the ambiguous deaths of many characters from the Baudelaires' history, and the probable destruction of all evidence of their exploits in the previous books. If Olaf's house wasn't in the city, then I'd consider such a possibility, but any path which would take them into the city will, I believe, not occur.

I think that book 13 will take place on an Island. I think that the boat it self is the clue. The napkin is from a resturant on the Island.

I dont think the boat could be the clue, because in all the previous pictures the clues were not the main object of the picture. They were kind of almost hidden in some instances.

Perhaps the ship is the Prospero, manned by either good VFD or the bad side (Most probable) and it sails over to an island where Klaus, Sunny, Violet and Olaf ended up. Therefore, Olaf's associates want to look for him and they use the prospero. Or maybe the good side of VFD had the Prospero but Olaf's associates overtook them and now they control the ship.....

The couple that owns the Prospero is good(as of tua) because they refused to cooperate with o's associate (they would not tell him of their dealings with the viper.)
Therefore if the Prospero appears I'm thinking that it's commanded by good VFD but infiltrated by members of bad VFD who could stage a mutiny or kidnap.
I don't think the island they'll end up on is inhabited but it might be. I always thought the napkin was from the Prospero.
I also think the clue for the last book is either to mycelium or the ship. No hidden object or anything really stands out other than that...

i have a hunch that maybe they might go back to aunt josephines town becuase in tww it said that the kids will find what happened to her later. so they might return there
