I personaly think that it should not be the end of the series because it is so good and fun to read. I also think that a cliffhanger ending is good for our imaginations. I wrote many stories about what could have happened after THE END ( not posted). I just hope there is more books in the series.

I always thought that The End was the real and honest end and that he wouldn't write anything else ever again pertaining to anything from Series of Unfortunate Events. Sure, there's a lot left unexplained, but I don't think Lemony Snicket wants it explained.
But then - another series about the Quagmires or Beatrice (from The End) would be rather cool. So who knows, let's wait and see! If not, though, I am currently content with the thirteen books we already have.

I loved the end. Awesome fanfics are made.  But I would like it if Lemony Snicket wrote more on the ASOUE series. Short storys? Articles? Another series? |

Nobody knows. It's quite a mystery; that's why it's known as the "Great Unknown." Where it came from, what it wants, what happens to those who are swept into it... we'll never know unless we go there ourselves, but once we do, there can be no return.

i would want to read something as good as the series but not something like ineedyourhelp said because you'd know the basic summary of whats gonna happen the small details would just change

Good bye, Good bye for Good! does anyone want to hear what i think happenns? i think that after the boat beatrice sunk they all swam and ran into the quagmmires after they got to the mainland. They also fun into fiona whos stepdad and brother died. in about 5 or 6 years violet and quigley get married and about 3 years after that fiona and klaus get married It did seem very harsh of Mr Handler to kill off the characters that both Violet and Klaus felt affection towards. But it doesn't feel to me as though they are dead... the Great Unknown seems to be a symbol of loss, and that life is a mystery. Lemony Snicket mentions that the Quagmires are in a dark and damp situation. He is, of course, referring to the fact that they have been swallowed up by the mysterious question mark. It seems odd that he would describe them being dead, so I like to think that they were just stuck, or struggling. Maybe after the series ended they managed to break free and Violet and Quigley got married. Shortly after, Klaus and Fiona got married too. Sorry. Hi. I must advise you that, when you want to add something to your message after only a very short time - less than twenty-four hours - you should use the Modify button in the upper-right corner of every post you make. This way the threads don't get cluttered with lots of very short posts that would be better made together.
As for the poem: Looks like Quigley, but it could be Duncan, equally, with the emphasis on Violet. I suppose it's a piece of fanfiction you found online? In addition, I agree with your assessment of the Great Unknown's significance.

Count OLAF . is one of the family !!!!! did you believe it …..a series of unfortunate events …. What a happy story . don’t cry my rose you are protected ….count olaf have no idea about what you already have … strong resourceful …. But never can stay a moment alone with himself . the eye of Horus at the top of the castle under the sword of the broken leg …… all members have the same spyglasses .
ooooh dear uncle monty how cute you are ….how free you are …. The orphans feel finally that they are in home . But no one could understand , your death is what we could name it a “real disaster “… where is your bless ….where is the bread of mother ..... Monty is dead .
Ooooooh dear Aunt Josephine …. What ever you would say it will be done… even fate would obey your thoughts … a gift mixed with fear . knowing all details , would make you a little crazy … you can’t free yourself …. With all those gifts …with all of that intelligence ….. you are afraid , with this fear you can’t be your mother …..you can’t be like Baudelaires , who have a long trip ….your cousins .... who really give the mother a real joy of heart .
Justice Strauss ….. is a good person , entity ….. but she would never accept walking with a spyglass unless it was in the book ….. or a new fashion …… dear god forgive her sin …

the last time they mentioned the Quagmires was in book the tenth when Esme, Count Olaf, Man with beard but no hair, and the women with but no beard where talking on mount fraught.
