I also figured that it was a pretty impossible thing to happen. To actually expect the crow to fall on the birdpaper is simply absurd. It could not have worked very well at all.

Maybe the same sort of things happened to him at that age that have happened to the Baudelaires. What I mean is, maybe Olaf had an unfortunate childhood too.

That is indeed a witty thing for Sunny to say. I just love Sunny's little words that have different meanings behind them.

Not everyone wants all the mysteries to be revealed/answered in Book Thirteen. I don't. It would be too easy that way.
But back on topic. It is difficult to identify both of the Sinister Duo, but I think it is quite likely that they are Olaf's siblings. They seem to be rather more clever than Olaf is.

Having read this thread, I am going to vote 300-399(?) pages long as well.

Agreed. If all of the questions and mysteries are answered, there wouldn't be anything left to imagine and play with. But if none of the mysteries are answered, then it becomes too annoying to bother with speculation anymore.

I really did like how all those past characters came back (except Nero and Sir).

I am going to imagine, then, that Kit is married to Dewey. There. Case closed for me.

And Antenora, it can't be 'New commentary columnist', because it's 'New Car------ary Columnist.' You're right; I was looking at a small scan of the image earlier, but now I have my book. Possibilities(you have to copy and paste the whole URL, or just go to Onelook.com and input "car*ary"): www.onelook.com/?w=car*ary&ls=a"Caravansary" is a lovely old word for a hotel, and I think it fits. If I recall correctly, the word "Caravansary" was guessed to be part of the title of Book the Twelfth a while back.

Well, we should be meeting the Finnish Female Pirates. What is the whole "Female Finnish Pirates" rumor that everyone believes will happen in Book the Thirteenth, and why do they believe it will happen? Where is the evidence?

The birds. I expect that they might resemble eagles, which would mean that the Baudelaires will reunite with the SSHAMH.

If realtors had invaded Curdled Cave, I would have thought that perhaps Aunt Josephine WOULDN'T want to hide there. :S But you never know. If it was once a V.F.D. base, then she might not have known that it was owned by realtors, and thus she thought that it was still safe.

I think that Frank and Ernest found out that their brother died, and if the clock somehow DID need winding in that short space of time, they would have done it themselves.

To me, the clue is the birds in the background, as some others have said.
